A quick and creamy mac and cheese recipe made with just three ingredients on the stovetop, perfect for weeknights or dorm cooking.

  • 1 cup elbow macaroni
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Cook macaroni according to package directions. Drain.
  2. Return macaroni to the pot. Add milk and heat over medium heat, stirring constantly, until milk is hot but not boiling.
  3. Reduce heat to low. Gradually add shredded cheddar cheese, stirring until melted and smooth.
  4. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a creamier sauce, use whole milk.
  • You can substitute other shredded cheeses for cheddar, such as Monterey Jack or a cheese blend.
