Ingredients
Scale
1 (15 ounce) can black beans, rinsed and drained
1/4 cup fresh lime juice
2 tablespoons olive oil
1/4 cup water (or more for thinner consistency)
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1/4 teaspoon salt, or to taste
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
Instructions
Place the rinsed and drained black beans, lime juice, olive oil, water, minced garlic, cumin, salt, and cayenne pepper (if using) into a food processor.
Process the mixture until it becomes completely smooth and creamy. Stop and scrape down the sides as needed. Add an extra tablespoon of water if you prefer a thinner dip.
Taste the dip and adjust salt or lime juice as needed.
Transfer the dip to a serving bowl. Stir in the fresh cilantro.
Serve immediately with tortilla chips, fresh vegetables, or use it for meal planning as a topping for bowls.
Notes
For a richer flavor, you can roast the garlic before adding it to the food processor.
If you are serving this dip as part of a weight loss program, pair it with vegetable sticks instead of chips.
This dip is excellent for game day snacks or as a quick appetizer.
