A quick and easy dump cake recipe combining apple pie filling with snickerdoodle cake mix for a delicious fall dessert.

Ingredients

  • 1 box (15.25 oz) snickerdoodle cake mix
  • 1 can (21 oz) apple pie filling
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Pour the apple pie filling into a 9×13 inch baking dish. Spread it evenly.
  3. Sprinkle the dry snickerdoodle cake mix evenly over the apple pie filling. Do not stir.
  4. Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the cake mix.
  5. If using, sprinkle the chopped pecans and cinnamon over the top.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
  7. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • For a crispier topping, you can add a layer of crushed pecans or walnuts over the cake mix before drizzling the butter.
  • Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
  • For a gluten-free version, use a gluten-free snickerdoodle cake mix.
