Make perfectly crispy chicken wings in your oven without frying. These dry-rubbed wings are ideal for game day or any party, with options for tossing in your favorite sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 pounds chicken wings, separated into drumettes and flats
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Optional: Your favorite wing sauce for tossing

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil for easy cleanup.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the chicken wings, baking powder, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Toss until the wings are evenly coated.
  3. Arrange the seasoned wings in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring they are not overcrowded. This allows for maximum crispiness.
  4. Bake for 20-25 minutes, then flip the wings.
  5. Continue baking for another 20-25 minutes, or until the wings are golden brown and crispy.
  6. If desired, toss the hot wings in your favorite wing sauce. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Using baking powder helps to draw out moisture from the skin, resulting in crispier wings.
  • For extra crispy wings, you can broil them for the last 1-2 minutes of cooking, watching carefully to prevent burning.
  • These wings are a great alternative to meal planning for busy weeknights.
