Quick and easy caramel apple crescent rolls, perfect for a fall dessert or holiday treat. Uses refrigerated dough for a semi-homemade delight.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (8 ounce) can refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 apple, peeled, cored, and diced
  • 1/4 cup caramel sauce, plus more for drizzling
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into 4 rectangles. Pinch the seams together to form one large rectangle.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together the granulated sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle half of this mixture evenly over the crescent roll dough.
  4. Scatter the diced apple over the sugared dough. Drizzle 1/4 cup of caramel sauce over the apples.
  5. Roll up the dough tightly, starting from one of the longer sides. Pinch the seam to seal.
  6. Place the roll seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Brush the top of the roll with melted butter. Sprinkle the remaining cinnamon-sugar mixture over the top.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  9. While the rolls are baking, whisk together the powdered sugar and milk in a small bowl until smooth to create a glaze.
  10. Once the rolls are out of the oven, let them cool slightly. Drizzle with additional caramel sauce and the powdered sugar glaze.
  11. Slice and serve warm, optionally with ice cream.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, you can add a pinch of nutmeg to the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  • Ensure your apples are diced small enough to cook through evenly.
  • If you don’t have caramel sauce, you can make a simple one by melting caramel candies with a little cream.
