A festive and vibrant red holiday margarita perfect for parties, featuring cranberry and pomegranate flavors. This recipe can be made individually or batched for a crowd.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 oz tequila
  • 1 oz orange liqueur
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • 2 oz cranberry juice
  • 1 oz pomegranate juice
  • Ice
  • For the rim (optional): Sugar or salt
  • For garnish (optional): Fresh cranberries, pomegranate arils, rosemary sprig

Instructions

  1. If rimming your glass, prepare a plate with sugar or salt. Moisten the rim of your margarita glass with a lime wedge and dip it into the sugar or salt.
  2. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.
  3. Add tequila, orange liqueur, fresh lime juice, cranberry juice, and pomegranate juice to the shaker.
  4. Secure the lid and shake well until the outside of the shaker is frosty.
  5. Strain the mixture into your prepared margarita glass filled with fresh ice.
  6. Garnish with fresh cranberries, pomegranate arils, or a rosemary sprig, if desired.
  7. For a pitcher: Combine all liquid ingredients in a pitcher. Stir well. Chill until ready to serve. Pour over ice in glasses and garnish.

Notes

  • For a mocktail version, replace tequila and orange liqueur with extra cranberry and pomegranate juice, and a splash of sparkling water or non-alcoholic spirits.
  • Consider a sugar rim for a sweeter taste, or a salt rim for a classic margarita contrast.
  • Garnishes like rosemary add a festive aroma and visual appeal.
