Make this creamy, hot crab dip for your next party or game day. This simple recipe delivers rich flavor and is a crowd-pleasing appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound lump crab meat, picked over for shells
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese (for topping)
  • Crackers, toasted baguette slices, or vegetable sticks for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease an 8-inch pie plate or small baking dish.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, sour cream, Parmesan cheese, Monterey Jack cheese, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, Old Bay seasoning, and garlic powder. Mix until the ingredients are smooth and fully combined.
  3. Gently fold in the lump crab meat. Be careful not to break up the crab too much; you want some texture remaining.
  4. Spread the crab mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  5. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top of the dip.
  6. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the dip is hot throughout and the cheese on top is melted and lightly golden brown.
  7. Let the dip cool for 5 minutes before serving warm with your choice of dippers.

Notes

  • You can assemble this dip up to 24 hours in advance. Cover the dish and refrigerate. Add 5 to 10 minutes to the baking time if baking straight from the refrigerator.
  • For extra flavor, you can mix 1 tablespoon of finely chopped green onion into the dip mixture before baking.
  • This hot crab dip is excellent served with sturdy crackers or thick slices of toasted French bread.
