Make this easy, creamy clam dip using cream cheese and canned clams. It is a classic party dip perfect for serving with crackers or chips.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 (6.5 ounce) can minced clams, drained well
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup green onions, finely chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Pinch of salt (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and sour cream. Mix them together until the mixture is smooth and fully combined.
  2. Add the drained minced clams, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, and black pepper to the bowl. Stir until all ingredients are evenly distributed throughout the cream cheese base.
  3. Fold in the finely chopped green onions. Taste the dip and add a pinch of salt if needed, based on the saltiness of your clams.
  4. Cover the bowl and chill the clam dip in the refrigerator for at least one hour. Chilling allows the flavors to blend together.
  5. Serve your homemade clam dip cold with sturdy potato chips, your favorite crackers, or fresh vegetable sticks.

Notes

  • For a tangier flavor, substitute 1 tablespoon of the sour cream with plain Greek yogurt.
  • If you prefer a slightly warmer flavor profile, add 1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder with the pepper.
  • Make this ahead of time; it tastes even better the next day.
