Make this indulgent, cheesy pull-apart bread stuffed with seasoned ground beef and bacon. It is a hearty, crowd-pleasing recipe perfect for game days or family dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup cooked bacon, crumbled
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 (13.8 ounce) package refrigerated pizza dough
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter (optional, for brushing)

Instructions

  1. Cook the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until fully browned. Drain off all excess grease.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the cooked ground beef, crumbled bacon, softened cream cheese, cheddar cheese, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, sour cream, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Mix until all ingredients are evenly combined into a thick filling.
  3. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  4. Unroll the pizza dough onto a lightly floured surface. Do not stretch or roll it out further.
  5. Spoon the meat and cheese filling down the center third of the pizza dough, leaving about a 2-inch border clear on the top and bottom edges.
  6. Use a knife or pizza cutter to cut diagonal slits about 1 inch wide along both long sides of the dough, starting from the edge of the filling and going out to the edge of the dough. These cuts create the strips that will be folded over.
  7. Fold the top and bottom edges of the dough over the filling to seal the ends.
  8. Alternately fold the cut strips from the left side over the filling, overlapping them slightly, then repeat with the strips from the right side, creating a braided or overlapping pattern to completely seal the loaf. Pinch the seams together to secure the filling inside.
  9. Carefully transfer the loaf to the prepared baking sheet.
  10. Brush the entire surface of the bread with the beaten egg wash.
  11. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese filling is melted and bubbly.
  12. If desired, brush the top lightly with melted butter immediately after removing it from the oven.
  13. Let the garbage bread cool on the baking sheet for 10 minutes before slicing into thick pieces for serving.

Notes

  • You can substitute the ground beef with cooked Italian sausage or shredded cooked chicken for variation.
  • For an extra savory flavor, add 1/4 cup of finely chopped cooked onion or green pepper to the filling mixture.
  • Serve this cheesy pull apart bread with marinara sauce or ranch dressing for dipping.
