Create restaurant-style garlic herb compound butter to elevate your steaks, pasta, vegetables, and bread. This easy make-ahead condiment can be prepped, chilled, and sliced.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh chives, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, chives, rosemary, salt, and pepper.
  2. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly distributed throughout the butter.
  3. Place the butter mixture onto a piece of parchment paper or plastic wrap.
  4. Shape the butter into a log, about 1.5 to 2 inches in diameter.
  5. Wrap the log tightly in the parchment paper or plastic wrap.
  6. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or until firm.
  7. Once firm, slice the butter log into 1/2-inch thick coins.
  8. Store the butter coins in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week, or freeze for longer storage.

Notes

  • For longer storage, freeze the butter coins. Place them in a single layer on a baking sheet and freeze until solid, then transfer to a freezer bag.
  • This compound butter is perfect for meal planning and adding extra flavor to weeknight dinners.
  • Consider this a great addition to your steak night preparations.
