Make these adorable Grinch Oreo Balls for a festive, no-bake holiday dessert. They feature a chocolatey Oreo center coated in bright green candy melts and topped with a small red heart, making them perfect for Christmas parties or cookie trays.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (14.3 oz) Oreo cookies (about 36 cookies)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 12 oz green candy melts
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil (optional, for smoother melting)
  • Small red heart sprinkles or red candy dots

Instructions

  1. Place the Oreo cookies into a food processor and pulse until fine crumbs form. If you do not have a food processor, place them in a large zip-top bag and crush them with a rolling pin.
  2. Transfer the Oreo crumbs to a medium bowl. Add the softened cream cheese.
  3. Mix the crumbs and cream cheese together using a hand mixer or a sturdy spoon until a thick dough forms.
  4. Roll the dough into small, uniform balls, about 1 inch in diameter. You should get about 30 to 36 balls.
  5. Place the formed balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Refrigerate the Oreo balls for at least 30 minutes to firm them up. This step helps prevent them from falling apart when dipped.
  7. Melt the green candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl according to package directions. Stir in the coconut oil if using to thin the coating slightly.
  8. Dip each chilled Oreo ball into the melted green candy, allowing excess coating to drip off. Return the coated ball to the parchment-lined sheet.
  9. Immediately place one small red heart sprinkle or candy dot on top of the wet green coating to resemble the Grinch’s heart.
  10. Allow the candy coating to set completely at room temperature, or speed up the process by chilling them for another 15 minutes.
  11. Serve these festive green desserts or store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Notes

  • For a slightly different flavor, substitute regular Oreos with Red Velvet Oreos for the filling.
  • If you do not have red heart sprinkles, you can use a toothpick dipped in melted red candy coating to create a small red dot.
  • Keep these no bake holiday treats chilled until about 15 minutes before serving for the best texture.
