Make this easy, flavorful olive oil bread dip at home. It mimics popular restaurant versions and is ready in ten minutes, perfect for serving with crusty bread as a quick appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon dried Italian seasoning blend
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon coarse salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Place the minced garlic, Italian seasoning, oregano, crushed red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper into a shallow serving dish.
  2. Pour the extra virgin olive oil over the spices and garlic mixture in the dish.
  3. Stir the ingredients together gently to combine.
  4. If using, sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the top.
  5. Let the olive oil bread dip sit at room temperature for at least 10 minutes before serving. This allows the garlic and herbs to infuse the oil.
  6. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley just before serving with warm crusty bread.

Notes

  • For a Carrabba’s copycat flavor, increase the red pepper flakes slightly.
  • If you prefer a smoother dip, you can finely mince the garlic or use a garlic press.
  • Serve this dip with sourdough, focaccia, or a fresh baguette.
  • You can prepare the spice blend ahead of time and store it in an airtight container for up to one month. Mix with oil just before serving.
