Follow these simple steps to make juicy, flavorful baked pork chops with a crispy Parmesan breading. This is a quick weeknight pork chop meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 bone-in pork chops, about 1 inch thick
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup plain breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease a baking sheet or line it with parchment paper. Spray the paper lightly with cooking spray.
  2. In a shallow dish, whisk together the egg and milk until combined. This is your binder.
  3. In a second shallow dish, combine the grated Parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, garlic powder, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix these dry ingredients well.
  4. Take one pork chop and dip it completely into the egg mixture, letting excess drip off.
  5. Press the coated pork chop firmly into the Parmesan mixture, ensuring both sides are fully covered with the breading. Press the coating on to help it stick.
  6. Place the coated pork chops on the prepared baking sheet. Spray the tops of the coated chops lightly with cooking spray to help them brown.
  7. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 145 degrees Fahrenheit. For a more golden brown crust, you can briefly broil for the last 1-2 minutes, watching closely to prevent burning.
  8. Remove from the oven and let the pork chops rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For a crispier coating, use Panko breadcrumbs instead of regular breadcrumbs.
  • If you prefer garlic Parmesan pork chops, add 1/2 teaspoon of garlic salt to the dry mix instead of plain salt and garlic powder.
  • These oven baked pork chops with cheese pair well with roasted asparagus or mashed potatoes.
