Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 4 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 2 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and shredded cheddar cheese until well combined.
  3. Gradually add the flour and cayenne pepper (if using) to the cheese mixture, mixing until a dough forms.
  4. Gently fold in the Rice Krispies cereal.
  5. Roll the dough into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on the prepared baking sheets. Flatten each ball slightly with the palm of your hand or the bottom of a glass.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden brown.
  7. Let the crackers cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • For make-ahead convenience, you can bake the crackers up to 3 days in advance and store them in an airtight container at room temperature.
  • Add a pinch of garlic powder or onion powder for extra flavor.
  • For bite-sized shaping, use a small cookie scoop to portion the dough before rolling into balls.
