Learn how to make incredibly crispy and caramelized Brussels sprouts in your oven. This simple recipe is perfect for weeknights or holiday meals.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional: 2 tablespoons balsamic glaze, 4 slices bacon (cooked and crumbled), 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a large bowl, toss the Brussels sprouts with olive oil, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
  3. Arrange the Brussels sprouts in a single layer on a baking sheet, cut-side down. This helps them crisp up.
  4. Roast for 20-25 minutes, or until tender and deeply caramelized. Flip them halfway through for even cooking.
  5. If using, toss with balsamic glaze, crumbled bacon, or Parmesan cheese before serving.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, ensure your Brussels sprouts are dry before tossing with oil.
  • Don’t overcrowd the baking sheet; use two if necessary to allow air circulation.
  • High heat is key to achieving that perfect crisp.
