Make bold, flavor-packed salmon tacos quickly using your air fryer. This recipe pairs smoky, sweet chipotle honey salmon with a bright, crunchy slaw for a perfect weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound salmon fillets, skin removed
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon chipotle pepper in adobo sauce, minced
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 8 small corn or flour tortillas
  • For the Zesty Slaw:
  • 2 cups shredded cabbage mix
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise or Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro

Instructions

  1. Prepare the salmon seasoning: In a small bowl, mix the honey, minced chipotle pepper, and 1 tablespoon of lime juice. Set aside.
  2. Season the salmon: In another bowl, toss the salmon fillets with olive oil, smoked paprika, chili powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
  3. Air fry the salmon: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Place the seasoned salmon in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook for 8 to 10 minutes, until the salmon flakes easily.
  4. Brush with glaze: During the last 2 minutes of cooking, brush the honey chipotle mixture evenly over the salmon fillets.
  5. Make the slaw: While the salmon cooks, combine the shredded cabbage, mayonnaise or yogurt, 1 tablespoon lime juice, sugar, and salt in a medium bowl. Mix well until the cabbage is coated. Stir in the fresh cilantro.
  6. Warm tortillas: Warm your tortillas according to package directions, either in a dry skillet or briefly in the microwave.
  7. Assemble tacos: Flake the cooked salmon into pieces. Divide the salmon among the warmed tortillas. Top each taco generously with the zesty slaw. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the salmon seasoning mix.
  • If you do not have an air fryer, you can pan-sear the salmon in a skillet over medium-high heat for 4-5 minutes per side, then brush with the glaze during the last minute of cooking.
  • Use Greek yogurt instead of mayonnaise in the slaw for a lower-fat option.
