Make this easy cinnamon roll bake using canned biscuit dough for a quick, gooey, and sweet breakfast or dessert. This viral recipe is simple to assemble and perfect for a weekend brunch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (16.3 ounce) can refrigerated biscuit dough (like Grands), cut into quarters
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon together. Toss the quartered biscuit pieces in this cinnamon sugar mixture until coated.
  3. Arrange the coated biscuit pieces in a single layer in the prepared baking dish.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter and brown sugar until combined. Pour this mixture evenly over the biscuits.
  5. Pour the heavy cream over the top of the biscuits and butter mixture.
  6. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown and cooked through.
  7. While the casserole bakes, prepare the frosting. Beat the softened cream cheese with an electric mixer until smooth. Gradually beat in the powdered sugar and vanilla extract until the frosting is creamy. Add a teaspoon of milk if the frosting is too thick.
  8. Remove the casserole from the oven and let it cool for 10 minutes. Drizzle the cream cheese frosting over the warm cinnamon roll casserole before serving.

Notes

  • For a make ahead cinnamon roll bake, assemble the casserole through step 4, cover, and refrigerate for up to 12 hours. Add 5 to 10 minutes to the baking time if baking directly from the refrigerator.
  • If you want a fudgy cinnamon swirl bake, you can sprinkle a few extra pinches of brown sugar over the top before baking.
  • This recipe works well with any brand of canned biscuit dough, making it a simple cinnamon breakfast bake.
