A quick and easy homemade tzatziki sauce recipe using Greek yogurt, cucumber, and fresh herbs. Perfect as a healthy dip or Mediterranean condiment.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 English cucumber, grated and squeezed dry
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh mint, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, minced garlic, chopped dill, chopped mint, lemon juice, and olive oil.
  2. Stir all ingredients together until well combined.
  3. Season with salt and black pepper to your preference.
  4. For best flavor, cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.

Notes

  • Ensure the cucumber is squeezed very dry to prevent a watery sauce.
  • Adjust garlic, herbs, and lemon juice to your taste.
  • This sauce is a great accompaniment to grilled meats, falafel, or as a dip for vegetables.
