Make this creamy whipped ricotta dip in 10 minutes. It is a simple, no-bake appetizer perfect for parties, balancing sweet and spicy flavors.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 15 ounces whole milk ricotta cheese, drained
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup hot honey (or more to taste)
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts, toasted
  • Fresh rosemary sprigs, for garnish
  • Crostini or crackers, for serving

Instructions

  1. Drain the ricotta cheese in a fine-mesh sieve set over a bowl for at least 15 minutes to remove excess liquid.
  2. Place the drained ricotta cheese, olive oil, salt, and pepper into a food processor.
  3. Process the mixture for 2 to 3 minutes, stopping to scrape down the sides as needed, until the cheese is completely smooth, light, and fluffy.
  4. Transfer the whipped ricotta dip to a shallow serving bowl. Use the back of a spoon to create a slight well in the center.
  5. Drizzle the hot honey evenly over the top of the dip.
  6. Sprinkle the toasted walnuts over the honey.
  7. Garnish with small sprigs of fresh rosemary.
  8. Serve immediately with crostini or crackers for dipping.

Notes

  • If you do not have a food processor, you can use a high-powered blender or a stand mixer with the whisk attachment, but the texture may take slightly longer to achieve maximum creaminess.
  • For a gluten-free appetizer, serve with gluten-free crackers or sliced cucumbers.
  • If you prefer a savory dip, omit the hot honey and top with roasted garlic cloves and a drizzle of balsamic glaze instead.
